Nestled in the heart of Mohawk College on the Fennell Campus, the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre is the second largest theatre in Hamilton and operates year-round serving the Mohawk College community and is available to the external community.
The 1029-seat McIntyre Performing Arts Centre is the ideal venue for Dance, Theatre, Concerts, Recitals, Corporate Events & Conferences, and any other type of event. The theatre is available to all, including community organizations, individuals, corporate clients, businesses, and commercial promoters.
The McIntyre Performing Arts Centre, and all of Mohawk College is fully accessible. We provide wheelchair seating space, entrance ramps, elevators, signage in Braille formats, accessible parking spots and accessible washrooms.

Here are the steps to renting the theatre:
The McIntyre Performing Arts Centre is available for rentals 7-days a week year-round. There are some exceptions in late December – early January, and holidays.
We accept general booking requests approx 12-months in advance. Existing rental clients have priority to book their event for the following year before the date is open to general bookings.

Yes. Liability insurance, and a Certificate of Insurance is a requirement of your rental contract, and can be obtained inexpensively from your insurance provider. Details of the requirements are listed in your rental contract.
A facility rental of the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre includes use of the 1029-seat Main Auditorium, Greenroom, 2 large dressing rooms and VIP Dressing room, as well as non-exclusive use of the Main Lobby space.
No, we do not inflate our rental rates during high peak times or days, and so do not discount during other time periods.
Yes, you can operate your own box office and ticketing for your event. You will be responsible for all costs associated with ticketing for you event, including box office staff, and any SOCAN or other rights costs that are connected to box office revenue.

Yes, there is opportunity for you to provide your own technical staff or volunteers to augment the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre technical staff.
However, there is a minimum number of venue technical staff required for your event, and that cost will be reflected on your rental estimate. There are certain systems and equipment that cannot be operated by outside staff or volunteers.
Yes, you can provide the Front of House staffing for your event, including ushers and box office staff. There may be a minimum number of your staff required for Front of House operations. This will be discussed in advance of your rental.
However, there will be a minimum number of venue Front of House Staff required, and that cost will be reflected on your rental estimate.

Yes. There are many rooms that can be used in connection with a rental of the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre. These can be added for additional cost as needed for extra changerooms, holding spaces, warm up spaces, reception spaces or other breakout rooms.
