Named after former Mohawk College President, now President Emeritus, Keith McIntyre, the 1029-seat McIntyre Performing Arts Centre’s design was inspired by Toronto’s O’Keefe Centre, now Meridian Hall. This beautiful cultural space opened its doors in 1971, and has hosted thousands of events and performances throughout the decades. It is the hidden gem of the Hamilton Arts & Culture scene.
The McIntyre Performing Arts Centre serves both the Mohawk College Community, hosting large campus events, such as Convocation, as well as serving the external community as a rental facility.

The McIntyre Performing Arts Centre is easily accessible by car or transit. Located on the Fennell Campus of Mohawk College at 135 Fennell Ave W, Hamilton ON. The campus has ample parking and is served by many transit routes.
Mohawk College and the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre are served by HSR Transit routes 20, 21, 33 & 35 from Downtown Hamilton. Drop off on campus is near the J-Wing.

The McIntyre Performing Arts Centre, and Mohawk College are located on the corner of Fennell Ave W, and West 5th Street. It has quick access from the Lincoln M Alexander Parkway, and Highway 403. There are over 2000 parking spots available on campus with lots P1 & P2 being the most convenient to the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre. There is accessible parking available in the Short Term parking lot or P3.
All parking at Mohawk College is paid parking, however some events include the cost of parking in your ticket. Please check your event details to confirm. If parking is included with your ticket price, you are still responsible for registering for your free parking permit HERE.

Parking can be paid either at machines located in the parking lots, or online HERE. If parking is included in your ticket, you must still register for your free parking permit ONLINE, as those permits are NOT available at parking machines.
The McIntyre Performing Arts Centre is located at the heart of campus in the C-Wing. From parking lots P1, P2, P3 and the Short Term Parking lot, just enter the main C-Wing entrance into the theatre lobby. Registering for parking ONLINE in advance saves time and lineups once you arrive.
If arriving by Transit, either walk outside to the C-Wing Main Entrance, or from inside any Mohawk College Building, following the signs for the C-Wing and the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre.
Arriving at the theatre 30-35 minutes before the advertised start time of the performance allows time to find parking or get from the transit stop to the theatre, get a drink from our concessions stand before the show, and get your ticket scanned and to find your seat.
Shows begin at the advertised start time. If you are late we will try and seat you at an appropriate time during the show. Please note that no refunds or credits are given due to late arrival.

We suggest you arrive about 30-35 minutes in advance of the start time of the performance or event to avoid any unforseen delays. However, being late happens and we will do our best to get you seated at an appropriate point. You may be seated in different seats until intermission to avoid disrupting the performance.

Generally Yes. Our concession stand is open for most events, and has a selection of drinks and snacks available. Some events will also have alcohol available for purchase. We will ID for the sale of all alcoholic beverages.

During business hours, food is available on campus in our Food Court, or there are a number of restaurants and food options on Upper James Street close by.
Photography MAY be allowed at some performances, but flash photography is NEVER permitted as it may be dangerous to the performers.
The washrooms are located just off the lobby, and can be accessed at any time during the performance. Depending on the event, you may need to wait for an appropriate break in the performance to re-enter the theatre.
